Baby photography at the studio

Nikki and Molly came into the studio recently for a mother and baby session. Some of my favourite images are below.

I love working with natural light in my studio, which is why I always start my sessions off without any studio lighting, but sometimes the weather is so overcast that I need to give the ambient light a little bit of help. In this case I fired a studio light into the back wall of my studio. The reflected light fills the studio which helps give that extra bit of pop to the photos of mum & baby.

Giving back to my clients – Referral Programme

It’s been a few weeks since my last blog post as I’ve been really busy with sessions and editing (some of which I will hopefully share over the next few weeks) but I thought I would take the opportunity to mention my referral programme now, which I rolled out to past clients last month. I can honestly say that I’ve enjoyed working with each and every one of my clients and I wanted to give something back to them while at the same time trying to grow my business. Hence the referral programme was started. Basically each past client that refers someone to me (who pays for a full session) will get a free session in return. This free session can be used anytime within 6 months from the referral session. They can either take the free session themselves or gift it to another friend or family member.

And the best thing about the programme is that it is ongoing. That means if you book a session with me now and also refer a friend you will get another free session to use within the next 6 months.

Changing the subject: since we are coming up to the end of the first quarter of 2012, I thought now would be a good time to share with you my favourite photo of the year so far. It was a tough decision but I finally came down on the side of this photo of  Paola Andrea and her baby; I love capturing genuine happiness between mother and baby.

Family photography at Upper Seletar Reservoir

I was at Upper Seletar Reservoir a few weeks ago for a photo session with Elizabeth, Jason and Emma. The nice thing about doing outdoor shoots is that people will suggest places in Singapore that I haven’t been too before, so it gets me to see places that I would otherwise not have visited. We started off with some shots of Emma playing at the playground before climbing the tower for a few posed shots (and unposed shots of Emma running around! Cute shoes Emma!) We finished the session with everyone putting on their rollerblades. Who was the most sweaty at the end of the day? The man running around with a large camera in his hand!!
