Top 12 photos from 2011

My final blog post of 2011 and I thought I would share with you my top 12 photos from the past year. More often than not they coincide with my clients’ favourites but sometimes I have favourites for different reasons. Sometimes it is because a shot that I pre-visualized actually worked out better than I expected, sometimes it is the composition that I like and sometimes it is the lighting.

Which is your favourite?

Really looking forward to more great photo sessions in 2012

Have a merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Michael

Family photography at Marina Bay

Last Sunday I got up early to meet Alan and his family at Marina Bay. They are about to leave Singapore and wanted to take some photos in the area. His two daughters are particularly familiar with the area as this is where daddy has worked for the last few years.

We spent around 90 minutes there, starting at the Helix bridge before walking along the promenade while playing with bubbles, umbrellas and the model elephants. Here are some of my favourite images from our morning together:

Family Photography in Townerville

One of the things I love about photographing families at their homes is how everyone (especially the children) are much more relaxed than they would be in the studio environment. No sooner had I arrived at Liz & Daniel’s home in Townerville than their daughter, Emma, started running in and out of the bedroom onto the balcony in a carefree manner that most toddlers seem to have. The first shot below is literally the first shot of our morning together and it is my favourite. It’s funny how that happens a lot.
