Do you have your own studio?
Yes, our studio is located in central Singapore. It has an extremely relaxed, homely feel to it. As well as the studio itself we have a dedicated viewing room, a kitchen to relax in while you are not being photographed, a changing room and two bathrooms. We use top of the line Profoto lighting equipment that gives a truly remarkable quality of light for portraits.
Can I visit the studio prior to booking a session?
Yes, of course. We can arrange a date and time for you to have a look around our studio, viewing room etc. It will also give you a chance to see some of our products and how you may display your family photos.
What is the MPA?”
The Master Photographers Association (MPA) is the UK’s only trade body exclusively for full-time professional wedding, portrait and commercial photographers. To become a member, photographers must qualify at one of 3 levels; Licentiate, Associate or Fellowship. In December 2013 I qualified for the Associate Level in Portraits.
Can I bring along my pet to the studio?
Unfortunately we don’t allow pets at the studio.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, we do. This is a great and unique present to give to someone. Most commonly, gift certificates are bought by a group of work colleagues to give to someone else in the office.
Before the session:
How far in advance should I book?
You should aim to book at least 2-3 weeks in advance.
What is the pre-session consultation?”
This is a chance for me to get to know you a bit better; the type of photographs you like and what you are hoping for from the session. I can also give you tips on the type of clothing to wear for your session. For studio sessions this can be done over the phone. For home photo sessions I would recommend that we meet at your home. This will give me the opportunity to come up with ideas for some unique shots as well as let me know what the natural lighting conditions are like.
Once you confirm a booking, I will arrange a date for the pre-session consultation.
Can we skip the pre-session consultation?
We would strongly recommend that you do not skip the pre-session consultation. Our experience is that an informal chat or meeting a few days before the session gives better results and makes everyone that little bit more relaxed.
When do I pay for the session?
Please pay for the session at least 2 days before the date of the session. We accept cheque, cash or bank transfer.
How long will the session last?
Sessions will last around 90 minutes but can be extended if required (at no extra cost). Newborn sessions tend to take a bit longer.
What is the maximum number of people allowed at the session?
For home sessions there is no maximum and I don’t have a pricing structure which charges for extra people. For studio sessions there is a restriction of a maximum of 12 adults.
After the session:
When will I be able to view my photos?
The viewing session will take place back at the studio about 1-2 weeks after your session. It is best that all key decision makers are present. The session usually lasts about 1 hour as you relax on a comfortable sofa, have a drink and view your photos on a projector. Afterwards we can discuss various options on how you could display your photographs.
How many photos will we be shown?
I edit about 25-30 photos from the session to show you at the viewing. All of these photos will be edited in both colour and black & white. I prefer to show you quality over quantity of photographs.
When do we pay for our photographs?
You are under no obligation to buy any prints and products from us at the viewing session. However, we guarantee that you will love the photos that we show you or we will do everything we can to resolve it.
There is a 50% deposit required on any prints or products that you do order at the viewing session. The remaining 50% should be paid once we personally deliver everything to you.
